Citebyte is a multifunctional electronic tool capable of receiving and transmitting signals over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It can also communicate with infrared-controlled devices such as TVs, lamps, and air conditioners without requiring any additional attachment.

Citebyte has many useful use cases. For example, it can be used to control devices such as TVs and air conditioners over Wi-Fi for your children or other users. It can also be used to test the security limits of compatible devices against multiple types of signal-based attacks in authorized security testing scenarios.

Citebyte records and replays infrared signals from remote controls. It is built around an ESP microcontroller with a multicolor OLED screen used as the main user interface.

The device receives infrared signals using a TSOP38438 module. It transmits infrared signals using a TSAL6400 LED and a TSAL6100 LED mounted side by side.

Power is supplied by a 700 mAh LiPo battery. The battery protection circuitry is integrated directly on the PCB. The battery is protected with a physical off switch to ensure a safe product.

The ESP chip includes an antenna integrated on the same PCB. It supports Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, as well as Bluetooth communication.

Battery runtime is between 4 and 7 days under normal use.

The infrared transmission range is approximately 10 to 15 meters in bright conditions and can reach up to 35 meters in dark or low-light environments.

The firmware is open source and maintained through community contributions.
